GDPR - Can I define my own privacy declaration?

May 19 2018 | 0 comments

Another important topic of the GDPR is the privacy declaration and to make it accessible for the client in the moment he is required to release his personal data.
In any online widget provided by YachtSys is a consent text to which the customer must agree when he inserts his personal data. This consent text has an underlying link. If a customer clicks on the link a pop up opens with following default text which we strongly suggest to edit:
“We will not give your data to any third party. You find further information in our privacy declaration at the bottom of this website.”
Here you have 2 options:
1. Insert your own privacy declaration (very long, not recommended)
2. Insert a link to your own privacy declaration on your own website (this is the recommended elegant solution)
For doing so, just go in YachtSys to configuration, templates and select template type:
“GDPR Popup Text”
Then proceed as shown on the screenshots below.
And here the tip which will save you a lot of your precious time:
Just contact our support and ask them to copy our default templates in your login. Then you only have to edit the text in already existing templates but no longer need to bother to set up the rules by yourself.
