Takeaways from the Boat Rental Season 2020
The Covid-19 year 2020 was definitely the most disruptive period for tourism of all times. As recurring travel restrictions and actual lockdowns show, the yacht charter industry cannot rely on the recovery of the business in 2021. Hastily produced vaccines might not bring back the “old normality” to international travel behaviour, if the political targets are others. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) becomes effective on May 25th 2018. If you use certain YachtSys services, by default you are processing personal data and need a processing contract with YachtSys.

May 19 2018 | 0 comments

One of the big questions is how long you may store personal data from a customer who made a request but did not complete a booking.

May 19 2018 | 0 comments

Another important topic of the GDPR is the privacy declaration and to make it accessible for the client in the moment he is required to release his personal data.

May 19 2018 | 0 comments

A central topic of the GDPR is the consent of the client to use his personal data. YachtSys provides by default a draft of consent text in all online widgets. Of course YachtSys enables you to set up also your own consent text which e.g. your lawyer recommends you to use.

Moreover, it logs additional navigation data such as speed, acceleration, direction and inclination of the boat. The data is saved on an SD card which is inserted into the logger.
